I need to be able to sort files by date.. newest on top.

By filename would work if I could invert the sort order.
The administrator has disabled public write access.

Use that construction, please:
{commedia sort=date|order=desc}music{/commedia}

You can see the demonstraition here: Sorting by date first

When I add that the front end display is messed up. see attached

{commedia sort=date|order=desc}services{/commedia}

Commedia version 1.5.1 it appears
Joomla was version 1.7 now 2.5

I can not seem to find how to turn off the "more info" link.
